How do I force a recheck of my assets?

By default, the Nanitor agent checks in periodically and only sends changes since the last check-in. When you need immediate, complete results — for example, after applying a fix or changing a system configuration — you can use Request Recheck to force a full scan on the next check-in.

From the Asset Detail page

1. Navigate to Assets → select the asset you want to recheck.
2. Click the actions menu (three dots) in the upper right corner.
3. Click Request Recheck.

This triggers a full recheck of all check types (configurations, patches, vulnerabilities, system info, and network discovery).

From the Asset List (bulk recheck)

1. Navigate to Assets.
2. Select one or more assets using the checkboxes.
3. Open the bulk actions menu.
4. Click Request Recheck.

This is useful when you've rolled out a change across multiple assets and want to verify the results quickly.

From the Issue Detail page

1. Navigate to the issue you want to verify.
2. Open the Assets tab.
3. In the action column for the asset you want to recheck, click Request Recheck.

When initiated from an issue, only the check types relevant to that specific issue are rechecked (e.g., configurations for a misconfiguration issue, patches for a patch issue).

What happens next?

The recheck request is queued on the server. When the agent next contacts the server, it will be instructed to perform a full evaluation rather than only reporting changes since the last check-in. This can take up to 10 minutes. Once complete, the updated results will appear in the Nanitor console. The asset detail page shows when the recheck was requested and when it was last completed.

• From asset context (Asset Detail page or Asset List): requires the Manage Assets permission.
• From issue context (Issue Detail page): requires the Manage Issues permission.
