How do I delete an asset?

There is no need to delete devices from Nanitor, and there is really no way to actually delete anything. This is important for reporting and archival purposes. You can only mark things as retired but not actually delete them.

If you wish to stop monitoring a device with Nanitor, simply uninstall the agent on the devices you don't want to collect information from. After the specified time of not hearing from it, the device will be archived. Whether that will happen automatically or only after confirmation, as well as how quickly that will happen, will depend on the archival policy. That means it will not be included in reports and no notifications will be raised for it. If Nanitor starts hearing from it again it will be unarchived and become live in reports and notifications again.
