Welcome to Nanitor v5.5.0!

Nanitor v5.5.0 brings significant improvements in system performance, data management, and overall platform stability. This release focuses on optimizing processes, enhancing system reliability, and refining user experience. Below is a detailed overview of the updates included in this version.

User Notification Enhancements

Building on the introduction of user notifications in v5.4, we've made significant improvements to streamline collaboration and task management:

  • Tagging and Collaboration: Users can now tag each other in comments on issues, projects, and devices, facilitating better communication and teamwork.
  • Email Notifications: Users can receive email alerts when tagged, which enhances collaboration and response times.
  • UI Improvements: The notification interface has been streamlined, making it easier to manage and configure notifications.
  • The Notification Center has been fully removed now in favor of the new User Notifications. The Bell icon now represents User Notifications.

The screenshot shows the default configuration for email settings for user notifications, which is enabled for comments by default (when user is tagged).

Improvements

  • CentOS 7 End-of-Life Handling: CentOS 7 servers are now flagged as EOL.
  • Cisco Nexus 10.3 Support: Resolved command compatibility issues for Cisco Nexus 10.3, which does not offer the same commands as previous versions, improving support for these devices.
  • Support for Rocky Linux devices: These devices should now be able to install agents for inventory purposes, though Nanitor does not currently support benchmarks or vulnerability checks for Rocky Linux. The Operating System field should populate correctly with the OS and version.
  • Data Cleanup: A data cleanup process has been added to clean up old and unreferenced data in the database.

Bug Fixes

  • Asset Duplication in AD Discovery: Fixed an issue where duplicate assets could be created during Active Directory discovery.
  • Performance Improvements: Addressed performance bottlenecks by reducing processing time for critical API endpoints and resolving 504 errors in the Assets Inventory.
  • System Stability Enhancements: Fixed issues related to device vulnerability data processing.

Conclusion

We encourage you to explore these improvements in Nanitor v5.5.0. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us enhance and evolve the platform to better meet your needs. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
